It contains 7.75 miles of trails where you’ll be able to hike and view a variety of wildlife, including otters, frogs, and herons. The Otter Creek Road trail is popular with bicyclists and those bringing their pets along.

3. Lotz House
If you have an interest in American Civil War history, then you’ll want to make it a point to stop by at the stately Lotz House on 1111 Columbia Avenue in nearby Franklin. This historic location was right in the middle of the Battle of Franklin, where the Confederate Army suffered one of its most devastating defeats. Despite the destructive engagement, the two-story Greek Revival-style house is still intact.
While visiting its grounds, you’ll be able to go on one of several tours: the Walking Battlefield Tour, Women’s History Tour, Ghost Tour, and Private Cellar Tour, which gives guests the opportunity to dig for artifacts in the Lotz House’s expansive cellar.
